What is DNA Testing?

At Josefina F. Tur M.D. P.A., we offer a range of family relationship DNA testing services to meet various needs, in partnership with DDC (DNA Diagnostic Center)[1]  & Independent Forensics. Our services include Paternity Testing (Non-Legal and Legal), Maternity Testing, Immigration DNA Testing, and Siblingship Testing, among others. These tests provide reliable answers for questions about biological relationships, ensuring that you have the information you need for personal, legal, or immigration purposes.

We utilize simple, non-invasive methods such as buccal swabs (cheek swabs) for sample collection, which are sent to the DDC lab for precise analysis. Whether you need a Paternity (Legal) test to establish a legal relationship or an Immigration DNA Test to confirm family connections for immigration purposes, our team is here to guide you every step of the way.

Do I Need to Prepare for a DNA Test?

Most DNA tests we perform—such as cheek swabs or saliva samples—require little to no preparation.

To ensure accuracy, please avoid eating, drinking, smoking, or chewing gum for at least 30 minutes before your appointment to prevent contamination.

For rare blood-based tests, our team will provide specific instructions, but fasting is usually not necessary.

Be sure to bring identification and any required paperwork with you to your appointment.
